The strongest references are press-shot stills, not fan screenshots. Press stills are evenly lit, the actor is centered, and the resolution holds up at full-frame on Photos. Fan screenshots tend to be motion-blurred and dim — the AI does its best, but the result looks softer than it has to.

Specific franchises that face-swap exceptionally well: James Bond opening shots (clean three-quarter angle), Marvel character posters (centered, even light), Game of Thrones house portraits (dramatic chiaroscuro lighting works because it's already stylized), Wednesday Addams promo art (the high-contrast aesthetic flatters most face shapes).

A selfie taken at the same head pose as the reference. If Bond is three-quarter facing left, your selfie should be the same.
