Wedding Photo Face Swap

Visualize the wedding before you book the venue.

Wedding-photo face swap is the engagement-era surprise photo. Couples use it to preview themselves in different dress styles, venue types, and seasons before committing. It also makes excellent surprise content for the actual wedding's slideshow.

Photographers (the smart ones) actively use this. They'll send a couple three or four 'mood board' face-swapped previews — same venue, three dress silhouettes, two settings — and let the couple pick a direction. It cuts the styling consultation time in half.

Outside of professional use: it's a heartfelt anniversary gift. Take a wedding photo from your actual wedding day, face-swap it into a Hollywood golden-age aesthetic (1950s, soft-focus, black-and-white), and frame it. Same wedding, different era.

If you're using this for a proposal: don't face-swap the actual ring photo. That feels deceptive. Use it for the moodboard ahead of the proposal — show your partner what the day could look like, with both of you in it.

The recipe

  1. 1. Both partners' faces. Save both faces in the AnyFace library (with consent). Run swaps in pairs for matching style.
  2. 2. Pick references. Pinterest 'wedding photography' boards by style — boho, ballroom, garden, beach. Save 3–5 references with the look you want.
  3. 3. Two swaps per photo. Swap face A onto the bride/groom in the reference, then swap face B onto the partner. HD mode recommended.
  4. 4. Share or print. These are gift-tier photos. Print at 11x14 on archival paper for an anniversary, or send digital previews to the photographer.

Source photo tips

Both partners' selfies should be from the same year and similar lighting. Otherwise the couple reads as composited rather than 'taken together'.
